YouTuber Derik Eskel Grant, 25, has been charged with two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
According to the indictment, the abuse occurred from June 2021 through July 2021 when the victim was a minor, aged 14 or older. Charging documents state that on multiple occasions Grant put his hands under the victim's clothing to touch private areas despite the victim repeatedly telling him to stop. On at least one occasion, the victim physically tried to prevent the abuse from occurring but was unsuccessful.
Grant admitted to Murray City police that he was "too obsessed with her" and "was way more touchy-feely than she wanted," among other things. A declaration of probable cause also states Grant texted that he "talked to his bishop and knows he should have done better." Grant is a return missionary and is currently a member of the LDS Church. He is due in the 3rd District Court on July 25th, case#: 221902796.
Grant is best known for his YouTube channel "Eskel's Cult Experience" which serves as a sister channel to the YouTube channel "Amanda Rae" run by his sister. The two are former DCCS members who made broad accusations of abuse against DCCS members in 2022, including a civil lawsuit. The lawsuit was later dropped in State court in February 2023 with lawyers for the plaintiffs promising to refile the suit in federal court.
